Hello everyone, I was wondering if any of you could help me with a question. About three weeks ago I bought a 2011 XLT Crew with the 5.0l 4X4 and it has all four XLT packages Chrome, Towing, XLT plus and the convenience packages, stating that it should have power, heated and external mirror mounted turns. So the last few nights on my way home its been cool and the truck was fogged over, so I hit the rear wondow defrost and looked all over for the mirrow defrost with no avail. In looking in the owners manual I see the button if you have heated mirrors is the same as the rear but its a two stage button, does anyone know if there is more then one convenience packages, that are not listed on Fords web site?

 

The heated mirror button is a separate button from the back glass atleast it is on my xlt

 

Do you actually have rear window defrost? Do you have the lines going across the glass?

I have the same XLT packages and the button you speak of only turns on the mirror defrost since I don't have rear window defrost. I believe it looks different if you actually have rear defrost.

Look on page 69 of your owner's manual. Actually, read the whole thing. It's remarkably handy.

 

what year do you have? Where is your mirror button?
I did look in the owners manual and on page 69 it shows the button having two little pics on it one of the rear window and one of the mirrors. I did email the dealer and he responded that it is turned on when I turn on the defrost for the front window automaticly, is this true on your guys truck and if not is there a button?

 

if there's a different button, i haven't seen it yet. when i turn on my rear window defrost, my mirrors also defog. perhaps i'll read this manual you speak of and report back later.

 

i have both heated mirrors and heated rear window on my xlt and they both turn on with the same button (rear window defrost button)

that is actualy the defrost button for your front window. I was told by my dealer that also causes the mirrors to defrost, do you know this to be true?

 

Does it have a pic of both the rear window and the mirrors on it or just the rear window?

 

Yeah it's page 69 if you have the single zone and look at the pic it shows, it have to little symbols on it one for the rear and one for the mirrors.
