Default XL vs. XLT

I have been looking for a new truck and have only recently been looking in this date range. I have found a vehicle that I think is a pretty good deal, but some of the VIN# decoders I have looked at say it is an XL, and some say it is an XLT. I have only seen pictures of the vehicle online at this point. Is there any way to tell for sure which model it is, and should I be concerned if it is one model vs. the other, or does it really matter? It has about 150,000 miles on it.

The VIN# is: 1FTFW1EF7BFC16102

Thanks for any input you might have!

VIN decoders are mostly useless for determining trim level. Ford's ETIS site isn't perfect, but it's the best I know of and it says XL. Generally, an XLT has more features than an XL, but decked out XL is similarly equipped as a base XLT. As long as you are satisfied with the options/features of the truck, that's all that really matters. (and the price....XLTs are generally more expensive than an XL)

Here are what is lists as features:

Yes, XLTs are generally more expensive than XLs, but they also have the highest rebates of any trim model. Compare carefully.

Thanks for the info! Do you have to be a dealer to use that site?

If the pics you are looking at have one of the front quarter panel, see if you can see the trim level on the badge.

No, but as of a few months ago, you do have to register to see the option details.

Thanks, but the pictures are not detailed enough to see.

Are there any fees associated with registering or using the site?
