my Uncle owned a Ford dealership for over 40 years in a small town. Ford basically put him out of business with its practices. they would send him at least one of each model and he would not have a choice on equipment. he might sell 8 pickups to one farmer but could not have them unless he took a Thunderbird, a mustang or escort that he could not sell to get the pickups. just telling you this to let you know he is not elligible for any of the plans, he was not a Ford employee. i think that sucks, i miss going thru his order sheets and the no hassle buying a vehicle. i would have a Raptor and GT500 instead of XLT and Mustang GT.

I checked out X-pricing. I actually got a better deal going through Costco.

I like the x-plan because its so easy and I can order what I want from factory (I mean what Ford will let me order) but I know if I was a hard bargainer I could do better. I didn't have a trade-in.

My sticker price was 46k, x-plan plus incentives brought it down to 36k...

anyone care to explain/elaborate on what this "X-Plan" is? I have been buying Ford vehicles for years and have never heard of this.

Yes please. There are other plans as well (A/Z) that I'd like to know the difference.

Thanks

X plan = virtually anyone qualifies. It's a way to get you in the door. Virtually any company or organization can ask for, and get "X plan" pricing. Don't confuse this in any way with the Ford employee or retiree pricing, which is much better.

As a side note, I asked for the Ford brocure a couple months ago, and just got it in the mail last week. I let it sit there a couple of days, because I didn't want to see that $750 coupon if it was in there, since I already bought my truck. Curiosity got the better of me, and sure enough, I got the damn coupon. . I should have just thrown it away and not looked....LOL.

A = employee pricing available to employees and family
Z = retiree pricing available to retirees, surviving spouses and family

The pricing was the same for those last time I bought new. The definition of family is pretty strict and enforced.

Has X changed from A/Z + 3%? I know my dad still gives out quite a few X pins to my immediate family's inlaws, friends, etc. so it must be a decent deal still.
