Default The wrench and limp mode - only when it rains

I've got a 2012 5.0 with 190k miles. It has been running fine, but occasionally when it rains I get the wrench in the message center and it goes into limp mode and shifts rough. If i shut it off and wait a few minutes it is fine. It has happened 3 times in the past 6 months and it was raining every time. I drive it daily. Did not leave any codes to check. I checked the trans fluid level when hot and it was fine. Any ideas what might be causing this?

Check your connections for your trailer wiring/plugs.

Pull the plugs on the ECM, check they're not corroded, apply dielectric grease and try again.

you may want to scan it with forscan or something else that can read all the modules and help narrow it down

Ok. Just looked those up on Amazon. Didn't realize they were so affordable. Do you know what module those codes are under?

I checked the codes. I got a few ECM can't communicate U0401 and a P0722:00-68. I think that has to to with the signal from the transmission output speed sensor. I'll check the ecm connectors and add some dielectric grease. I'll need to research the p0722.

The connector on the transmission could be your problem.
