I wish it was $20! I called three shops in town, I got $108, $150, $225 plus taxes so I bought the cheapest one. That's Canadian dollars mind you, but I couldn't even find one on the internet much cheaper than that.

So I was thinking that there was a tiny chance the separate ground wire might not be contacting properly even though I cleaned it once before, so I removed it and let it hang. I started the truck and iti died immediately and would not start again. Tightened the ground back to the frame with the bolt and the truck started and idled fine, I just still have the wrench icon. This increases my suspicions that the module is not the problem after all.

im also in Canada, the south detroit thing is a joke at Journey’s song. I got mine at the dealer. The last couple parts I’ve ordrfed were cheaper there. That thing, the Coolant T fitting and the oil pressure sending unit behind the alternator. One of the two was half that of Carquest and Canadian tire. I picked it up for $39 after taxes and the other places wanted $70

Did you ever check the relay? I don't have details for your year/engine, but there should be one. Maybe it is faulty. Otherwise, probably have to start tracing the wires back, see if they are damaged farther away from the module.

Pulled the relay = Truck won't start. Put it back in and it starts.
Swapped with a different relay and same thing.
Might have to start tracing wires if it really is a problem with the Fuel Pump Control module.

I have a friend who used to be a Ford mechanic years ago and he thought it might be a problem with the electronic throttle assembly or wiring, but it's been a long time ago for him.
Does that make sense? Anyone here ever hear of anything like that?

I started uncovering the wire loom from my fuel pump relay module located by the spare tire. I found 4 broken wires inside. I spliced them back together and the light went off and all is good now

How far did you have to trace the wires! A few feet? Thanks, having the same issue with my truck. Thanks!

Update, removed the loom and found a bad ground, and two broken wires. Repaired and the wrench and check engine light are off, Thanks!!
