Default wouldnt turn left?

2013 stx 5.0 4x4 e-locker
Sorry. .. This isa bit long.
I dozed a trail thru the woods about 2 months ago to connect 2 paths already there. My son wanted to go around in 'dayye's tuck' so I cant turn that down. Its been raining a lot so it was pretty slick/muddy thru the recently dozed ground.... Nothing major or anything. Good tires would go around in 2wd id bet. Anyways... about half way up rear end was losing traction, so I stopped put in 4wd.. so not to 'clunk' I backed up a couple feet then went up, around, then on the way down the other grass trail clicked it back to 2wd. Again. This is something I drive our Golf cart around (not up the new section too slick). Not extreme in any manner...

So I go to pull back on the driveway and it only turns about 3/4 to the left. To the right is fine. So I work my way onto the driveway. To confirm I'm not crazy... I put wheels straight. Turn to the right.. And watch out my window. It goes full to the right. Back to center. Turn to left, not even one full turn. Physically can NOT make it turn.

So I'm freaking out. I shut the truck off. Open for to turn off the accessories. . Shut the door and start it back up.

All is fine. Perfect. Like new.

Why? What the hell happened? And has anyone had that happened?

Sounds like the same problem Derek Zoolander had.

sounds like your truck didn't finish shift back to 2wd. last night on straight stretch of road i put my Screw in 4wd, rode a little ways. then shimoved it to 2wd, screen said shift in progress then 4x4 lite went out. i drove about 100yards a went to turn onto a side road, front still locked from feel of the steering. stopped the truck then proceeded with turn, felt normal then.

That's what I was thinking, but I could not turn the wheel at all more than like 3/4 steering wheel turn to left... I mean even in 4wd it turns all the way full. To the right was normal full turn. Been fine since. Freaked me the hell out for a sec.

Steering wheel couldn't make a complete rotation at all to the left...

Very strange

aeford09,

Glad to hear it seems to be better now. Let me know if you have any more trouble with it.

More probably the wheel well had filled up with mud/crap, blocking the wheel from being able to turn thru the full range.

No Trust me that wasn't it... Not even close.

2 reasons... first. It wasn't MUD like that. It was just slick ground basically. Like I said I drive a golf cart with golf turf tires through the same area. Just not suet it rains
Secondly. .. Pretty sure shutting off a truck and turning it back on doesn't clean packed w mud wheel wells. Haha

Maybe deep down your truck isn't a fan of NASCAR?
