Default would it really hurt it?

09 f150 stx 4x4 4.6l 2v v8, want a 6" bds with 37s and 20s.. would i be ok running stock gears for a month or two? id be taking it extremely easy on the truck until i got it regeared but would i be ok? ive got 35s now but want some 37s and 20" rims.. after regearing would i be back to stock speed even on highway? i go up to NC alot so any advice i would be grateful...

can i run 37s with 20s without regearing for a couple months if i take it easy?

and if i regear will i be back to stock even with the small V8 ive got in my truck?

( wont be driving truck anywhere but around town until new gears are in)

a good start to getting a response would be to talk about what your current gears are....

Your gears will be fine but your motor will be operating outside of the optimum range. I would worry about the axles and the like as those will probably fail way before the gears.

You will be alright. It might not be as peppy as youd like but seeing as you bought a 4.6, speed obviously wasnt your goal.

Like previously stated, the things that will have a hard time are suspension components. 37s are hard on IFS

Yeah when I bought the truck it was spur of the moment and didn't think too much about the motor.. But doing this and regearing and programmer can I still go the sane highway speeds I did stock?
