To wire an amp and sub you will need:

Constant + (fused line from battery)

Switched + (tap any switched wire from the fuse box in the passenger side kickpanel)

Ground - (bolt or screw attached to bare sanded metal part of the truck)

Line out converter for Rca cables

Amp

Sub

Box

Super easy to hook up in these trucks...

not sure about newer vehicles but many aftermarket radios have a switched wire. i use to use the power antenna wire to turn on the amp.
my kids are using the stereo power for the mids/tweets and an amp for the subs.

Fuse 38 on the fuse panel down at the passenger side floor area is a popular connection for remote turn on. Jus use an add a fuse and run your wire

An alternative solution is to get an amp that will turn on when it receives signal over the line level speaker wire. My alpine mrx-v70 does this.

if you are amping everyting for the sony system you will have to tap into the DSP amp wiring to the speakers that is located under the center console. the grey plug in the middle is the "out" to speakers.

if you are just just doing a amp and sub replacement for the factory sub, you can use the sub wires (they are dual +, -) and will need a line converter like the LC2i.

check out post 12 for pics on the my amp wiring to the factory dsp amp.
