Default Wiring

I added door sill, running board and bed leds to my truck. I tapped into the wires that came with the instructions and now my camera isnt working. I tapped the thin gray and purple wire. Does anyone know what function that is for I know the black is the cameras ground. I looked at the wires going into the camera and it dosent have a thin gray and purple. thanks

Sounds like the camera wire to me. But, I don't know what truck you are talking about. Is it a Nissan? International? Dodge? Yugo?

Have you checked for any open wires touching another wire? or try unhooking your new connections?

Since you mentioned instructions, what 'kit' did you buy?

Considering we are in the 2009-2014 F150 forum, of course unless he posted in the wrong forum, I think that's where we should begin. I don't think we should consider any of your options before the 2009-2014 F150. Just my thought.

GY-VT wire is the main camera signal. I think your instructions were for a different MY, or are referring to some other wire.
