Winter Is Coming
I've never put anything in my bed during winter but I also have my toolbox that's full of tools. I'm curious as to where you live as that may make it easier to give recommendations (Alaska vs Utah would be a big difference).
I'm in Indiana but make trips north here and there. We never have terrible weather but usually guaranteed a handful of ice storms and steady snow accumulation in December to February. I'm not worried about having problem but I'd rather have some sandbags in the garage ready to go instead of worried last minute.
I got the wife 4 new winter tires since my OEMs only have 2600 miles on them. Will save up and sport new tires next year instead. In the mean time, I plan to put two 60lb sand tubes in the back next to each wheel well.
Our first snow fall came after freezing rain. Quickly motivated me to make room in the garage.

Calgary lotsa snow already 3rd F150 since 2010 always used stock tires and I drive in the mountains to hunt. Home depot 2 concrete walk slabs put a plywood divider in rear to stop from sliding your game. If I can drive here in snow with the all seasons for 4 years you will have no problem. I also lived in NS and Ont.
