Default Winshield Wipers

Ok Ive had my 14 SCREW FX 2 ECO for about a month now. Living in FL we get lots of rain. I noticed that my wipers suck in this truck. They are skipping across the widshield and making a horrible rubbing noise across the glass.. I figured maybe it was just crappy stock blades so I went and got new Bosch blades yesterday on my way to Daytona and they worked good at first but then it did the same thing after a while. It seems that the glass either needs to be really wet ar they have to be on full speed in order for them not to make the noise. It almost seems like on the intermintent speeds that the wipers are moving too slow and causing drag. I never had this problem in my 2010.. Am I the only one having this issue?

My 12 with Bosch icons will do it if it's a drizzle vs. a heavy rain! I vote normal...

If windshield not totally wet, it will rub annoyingly, just turn on the washerbfluid and that will get the blade completely wet which should do the trick.

I would first clay bar that windshield. Glass can soak up contaminants just like your clear coat. Give it a thorough cleaning via clay bar and you should notice an improvement.
Follow the clay bar with a good soaking of Stoners Invisible Glass. It'll pull the rest of the nastiness of the glass and leave you with a streak free, clean, surface.

I use Bosch Icon in the Spring/Summer/Fall and Bosch Evolution in the winter (cheaper and I don't take as much pain if they get all cut up with ice etc).

FWIW, I ditched the stock blades on day 3.

Most wiper blade "skipping" is caused by dirty wiper blades. Take a wet-wipe or something with alcohol (not beer ) in it and it will turn black from all the grundge. Short of that I use RainX - I know some are not sold on it but I never change wiper blades - up 100,000 miles (don't know after that as I trade by then). Anything after 45 mph or so the wipers are useless - and most of my driving is the typical commute @ 60mph. City driving or a very light mist will require wipers.

Your wiper blades would be covered under warranty, for 6 months, regardless of mileage. Go to your dealer and let them figure it out.

I agree with everything said here and performed the same ritual on the glass...you will be amazed how many contaminants are on the glass. I also run the same Bosch blades.

I have the same problem on my '14 FX4. Switched to the bosch and it helped but still drags.

Also when it drags I can feel it in the brake petal, is this normal?

ive spent a fortune on high end blades and to be honest, the cheap-o fully metal framed ones work the best. they rely simply on a metal frame for pressure points and not the molded form of the wiper. its most likely the top and bottom of the wiper that is dragging due to the weight and lack of an even pull across the window.

i just replaced my 1 year old OEM molded w/full metal framed ones and the difference was dramatic (doesn't look as cool but thats OK) besides, dont waste your money on something that needs to be replaced once a year or sooner, especially if your truck sits outside.

clay bar the window is a great idea as stated by mcdavis
