Default Why does it ride so rough

My truck has just recently started riding quite rough. Just about everytime I hit a bump I can feel it, and it just feels like something is going out. I have owned it since new, and it now has a tad over 100k miles. Could it be time for a new suspension? OEM or are there other brands out there that are a better quality?

You may need new rear shock absorbers. I had the same problem with aftermarket drop shocks then went back to the oem rear shocks and rode smooth.

We have the Bilstein rear shocks in stock. Be good starting point to change to these....see how things improve, then move to the front.

Just the shocks then? What is the factory recommended interval for them?

Do you have a link for a set of front and rears?

http://www.f150lifts.com/F150-09-13-...-Kit_p_99.html This is our Ultimate Kit 0-3" of adjustable lift. You can also just do the shocks only on all four corners. The bad news is Bilstein is on a national back order. We do have the Bilstein rear shocks in stock now.
Here is a link to all our suspension stuff: http://www.f150lifts.com/Suspension-Components_c_7.html

Last time I looked there was no real set time interval, lots of after market manufacturers state 60,000 miles but as a rule of thumb I only replace them when they are not doing their job any longer (bouncy or stiff ride) or if they are leaking.

If you don't want to lift your truck our Ultimate Kit is more than you need. I would look to just doing Bilsteins on all four corners. Of course when they are available. The rears are in stock, its just the fronts that have been trouble.

Anyone worth their oats in the auto industry will tell you that factory shocks (any factory) are junk at about 25,000 miles. You got 400% of the anticipated life of your shocks. Good for you! Now change them out and see what you've been missing for about 75,000 miles
