It shows the location in the owners manual.
It is attached to the change pocket to the left of the hvac controls.

You will have to install the power relay and fuse at the power distribution box on the rad support if you are running electric brakes.

Which controller did you get?
Wondering also if it would have to be programmed by the dealer?

Are there extra fuses to do this?

i basically cut a hole in the back wall of the storage area on Dash (where OEM brake control would go) and I fed the wire in from controller to the plug and play (located under driver side foot well) and plugged it in. The prodigy brake controller fits into the storage area on dash. Hopefully it will work. Should just be a plug and play right? What else is needed? I havent hooked the trailer up yet..

No, don't think so. The relay and fuze are for the battery charging/constant power circuit in the 7-pin plug, and do not control the brakes or the trailer brake controller.

Now, if your trailer has a rechargeable battery for your break-away emergency brakes, then you will need these.

Different folks have found it taped to different parts under the dash, or plugged into the back of the junk box. It has a plug in it to protect it, so it might not appear to be the right plug.

Do a search. Hhere's one excellent write up thet shows good pictures of where the plug might be.

No, you shouldn't have to. All you are doing with an aftermarket controller is using the already installed wiring harness to power the controller and connect it to the trailer brakes.

The reason that an OEM controller has to be activated by the dealer is that, as the name states, it is an Integrated Trailer Brake Controller, so it works with the truck brakes, ABS and other control systems for optimal performance.

I know I realize that, most trailers with electric breaks have a on board battery legally. I would think it would be better to have a charging system working if the truck is equipped.
