For you guys that got tailgate light bars, where did you mount it. did you mount it on the bumper part or the part that comes down a liittle under the tailgate

did you have to remove the tailgate to intall it.

 

I didn't have to remove the tailgate but it makes it easier. To remove the tailgate takes less than a minute.
Here are the steps:
Step 1 Open the tailgate and hold it at a a 45-degree angle against your torso.
Step 2 Move toward one side of the tailgate, and locate and access the tailgate cable.
Step 3 Remove the cable by releasing the locking clip from the bed side.
Step 4 Repeat the steps for the cable on the other side of the tailgate.
Step 5 Gently let down the tailgate until the right, or passenger, side aligns with the tailgate tab. Pull upward and out to the right. Be careful as the left, or driver's, side simply pops into the lower tailgate hinge. The tailgate will come right out.
