Default Wheel alignment question

This is going to sound like a pretty stupid question but I'm confused. I have a leveling kit going in my truck tomorrow morning and a new set of rims and tires coming in the mail friday. The salesmen I've been dealing with told me it doesn't matter that I get the alignment done on the stock rims before the new ones are installed. So my question would be should I wait to get it done when the new wheels are installed or is it fine to do it right after the level?

Wait, do the alignment after everything has been changed.

Alignment is one of my specialties and I've seen minor changes make a major difference.

I agree with the guy above, it's best to do the alignment after the new tires. Considering it will only be one or two days, I'd wait. Now if you got tires two months from now, then yes align now.

Salesman is just trying to get you in and out the door in a hurry and move on to the next person. I agree with all previous replies to your question.

Just had my 2 inch pro comp level and 3 inch rear readylift blocks installed this morning. I need to pick up my tires this evening and they are roughly 60km/40miles away... Would I be okay to drive that far without having my wheel alignment done? Have an appt to booked for tomorrow morning to get them aligned once my new tires are installed. GF has a car so I'm stuck using my truck

more than likely your new wheels and tires will not work for the alignment, most aftermarket wheels don't have the proper "lip" to assemble the wheel alignment fixture to the wheel. whenever i get my truck aligned i need to put my stock wheels back on

Different wheels and tires don't affect alignment.....

Almgreaser, you should be fine driving 40 miles.

Proper alignment equipment has adapters for custom wheels, I had to use them all the time. If your shop don't have the right equipment you might want to move on to a new shop.
