It will be covered under basic warranty if there is no curb rash. It is cracking of clear coat. We warranty them all the time. The new fusions with the black rims are the worst because it's easy to see

What all is involved in correcting the issue? I'm going to bring my truck in next week and would like a little info ahead of time to make sure the dealer doesn't screw me over.

Hi bigwhitey23,

I'd recommend getting this in front of your dealership so they can inspect. Additionally, I can get your regional customer service manager involved; just PM me your details and I'll get the ball rolling. Be sure to include your full name, best daytime phone number, VIN, current mileage, and preferred servicing dealership.

Maybe a tire retread whipped up and scratched when you drove over it? Those recaps can do serious damage.

My Ford dealer did everything they could to call it curb damage and it was my fault. Even the filiform corrosion that was occurring around the centercaps! I had never curbed the truck, it had seen some gravel road use though which I guarantee was the culprit.

At any rate the trucks gone now... Good luck with Warranty.

Stopped at a dealership. Photos taken and submitted to ford according to the rep I dealt with. I'll keep everyone posted on what happens next...

I'm in a bad winter, salt area and both sets of wheels on my old Ford Flex and 2010 F150 had the same issue. Both vehicles had new wheels replaced under warranty. Although your not in this type of bad weather area in winter, it looks like something that should not happen that early on, and not your fault. Hopefully Ford will grant wheels to replace those that have failed. Keep us posted.
