Default What is the triangle shaped storage for?

I'm just curious if anyone knows what the triangle shaped storage compartment in the xlt jump seat is for. It looks like it would hold a very skinny quart of oil. I was kind of thinking its for a note pad and pen.

I keep my insurance and ownership there; its about the only thing that fits that spot! I think directly underneath that is the tensioner for the middle seat's shoulder belt. They probably felt stupid taking away all that storage space so they molded that little lip there so you could store something there....like...4 sheets of paper? Maybe 6 business cards? I don't know, haha.

I do find it ironic/coincidental and convenient that the similar shaped deep pocket fits a .45 quite nicely.

LOL I never noticed that triangle. So I went out to the truck to see. No wonder I didn't notice it. This is what my '10 XLT jumpseat storage looks like.

The rib is molded into the plastic to make it more ridged without haveing to put a reinforcment under it because they needed the space for the belt tensionera it just looks like it might serve a usefull purpose.
