What tools for changing a strut?
The most important tool is obviously the strut spring compressor. I have heard of guys making their own or using other tools not intended for this but do NOT recommend it as the spring has a tremendous amount of force when compressed. Buy a good one that will last: http://topautotools.com/strut-spring...essor-buy-use/
I do know that compared to my friends 2004 and my 2013 f150, the bottom a frames are a bit different where the bottom of the strut fits in. The 2004 has it open to slide in and install the bottom bolt easily. not so easy with my 2013,struggle to get in. It has a cup type of setting and won't just slide in.
$50 in tools from Harbor Freight, two hours of my time (and the neighbor's), alignment from Treadquarters, and it is done (a couple weeks ago). I asked Treadquarters to check the torque on everything and they said everything was low... Other than that, all is well. Waiting for my current tires to go bad so I can get some all terrains..
