"Vent/slots" in question

I grabbed here and pulled out, towards me.

Then I grabbed here as well, and gave a quick tug

Now with the panel completely off, you can see back there, I have nothing. In the background you can see the dash board frame.

Hope this helps.
WOW! Now THAT'S dedication to a thread. It does seem to put to rest that mine is not the seatbelt/door chime. I wonder if other members could simply post two things. 1). If they can see some type of electrical device back there (like mine). 2) if they have automatic climate control. (wife as passenger does not count)

Maybe for some, but I also do not have SYNC so we can check this off the list too. Lots of great brainstorming so far.

I was just out for a ride. My 2011 XLT has that wafery dealy in there too. Hmmm.

I doubt it is a microphone. It looks nothing like one and.... my mic is up by the sunglass holder.

The sync mike is on the headliner to the right of the driver's side sunvisor on my truck.

The seatbelt/chime speaker is attached to the gauge cluster so it can't be that. I also have nothing back there. I do know that if you have the upgraded HVAC it is the auto sensor.

You would have to pull it and look for yourself. Easy to do.
