Thanks JC - apparently they dont do Platinums? So strange in that pricing is much the same. I just dont like this years FAKE wood in anything below a platinum.

But 25% off is what Im striving for, without a bunch of back end fees. I actually had one dealer quote me $499 doc fees (he called "processing") in a state with a $100 limit. He's supposedly ranked as one of the better sales guys. They are all the same it seems.

For those who registered in the poll, can u tell me more about your "deal" and who you went to?

I got my FX-4 in White Marsh, MD.
Sticker = $52,025
Price before Tax/Tags = $41420

I visited a dealer in Northern, VA to look at a Platinum with Max Tow and I walked. There was a lot of fuzzy sales math they tried to pull and they weren't happy when I called them on it; especially when they tried to charge an extra $995 for freight! Them low balling my trade was that final straw. The dealer in White Marsh was much better and more up front about pricing.

Good luck!

The $995 freight trick sounds like Koons. Im sure some people fall for that. Even thought I know they will knock it off when its pointed out, it sort of makes you lose faith in the salesperson before you even get going. You dont even want to give them the deal when they do stuff like that.

What items did you end up paying over the sticker?

Sorry, I'm not sure what you're asking here.

I should add that the dealer in White Marsh added a drop in bed liner and charged an addition $595, so I guess that drove the sticker up to $52620, so at 41,420 it was a total of ~21% off sticker.

Am I understanding correctly from some of you, that the $995 that Ford charges for "Destination and Delivery" is getting knocked off at the dealer? Or is it an additional $995 that the dealer is tacking on in addition to Fords D&D?

$54,800 MSRP
$43,305 Sale Price (but this is *bogus* anyway because he apparently added a $1500 trade assist rebate, when I specifically said I had no trade in)

So after the sticker, he added these items - this is what Im talking about - they try to add profit back in:

$3058 Sales Tax
$995 Freight (??!!))
$499 Processing (??!!)
$350 Tags (High?)

$48,207 Out The Door

At White Marsh, other than sales tax what did they add on? I thought even the price for Tags was high. According to this average Registry Fees are $99

Its already in the MSRP and then they try to add it again after they agree on a price

Gotcha, sorry I wasn't following. Here was my break down from what I remember, off hand...

Tax -
it may be the same in other states, but as a resident of PA, I only pay tax on the difference of vehicle price and trade in value:
41420 - 20,000 = 21500, 6% tax was $1285
Tags -
I *think* they can only charge you what this costs, otherwise you get a refund for the difference from the state you are registering the vehicle. I paid something like $170.
Dealer processing -
I think it was $200 - $250, can't remember, but it was at least half of the other dealers fee.

So, total for tax, tags, and dealer fees was around $1650 - 1700.

That was it, other than the ESP I got for 6 years, 125 k miles for $1300.
