Default What is this on my tailgate?
Anyone know what this bracket thingy is between the bottom of the tailgate and the bed? I've noticed other trucks without it, and from what I see it serves no purpose.

Might be for the backup camera or tailgate step.

Kinda hard to see what I'm looking at. There's a bracket on the tailgate that lines up in the middle of a bracket on the bed....right?
What's happening when the tailgate is closed?

Well, I have a 2012 and don't have the step but have the camera.
