Question What mods to do while the headliner is off?

I am having a sunroof issue (my best guess is the broken plastic tracks) so I will be pulling the headliner down to get this fixed using Sunroof Dr.

With that being said, are there any mods you would do that requires the headliner to be taken off? I hear it has to come off in order to replace a 3rd brake light - is that right?

Also, I am looking to replace the microphone for my bluetooth system - people cannot hear me via calls nor my voice control prompt. Which I believe is near the sunglasses cover & sunroof/rear window control switches, right?

Anything else I should consider? This is for 2012 F150 Harley Davidson.

Maybe some sort of sound deadening or heat block products.

MaDMaXX is correct 3rd brake light all external. Im assuming you double checked the leak. I thought mine was sunroof ended up being 3rd brake light leaking. Like the other gentleman stated sound deadening or heat block is a good idea.

Sound deadening - that's actually not a bad idea.

Can you clarify what you mean by 3rd brake light leaking? My sunroof is definitely stuck so it has to do with the tracks. I like the idea of sound deadening too, especially when I put on offroad tires.

The gasket around it will go bad and it will leak usually runs to the back corners and down the sides mine was so bad that it absorbed in the headliner all the way up to sunroof. Read some threads on here about it replaced the light and gasket no issues since.

I think sound deadening is the best option and since you have to remove both driver, passenger seats and console to get the headliner out, pull back the carpet and add some under there as well. Unless of course you can get at the track without removing the headliner.

I would suggest some 3m acoustic thinsulate material or Balistic SSQLT (not quite as good as true 3m thinsulate) or some hydrophobic melamine foam..

https://www.sonicelectronix.com/item...tic-SSQLT.html.

Maybe some CLD tiles placed up there too to stop panel vibrations.

I did both CLD tiles and ssqlt on mine. It really helped the sound and the heat.
