With my vehicles in the past I went 20,000 with the 25,000 Amsoil Full Signature with the eA filter (yeah, that's considered early with the signature series!). Got 200,000+ out of all my motors. I'll honor the oil monitoring system until the warranty is up since this is my first new truck.

But any other "full synthetic" probably around 10k, old school dino 5k.

You'll get TONS of opinions. Here we go again....

With mobil 1 I was going 5k miles. Now that I can get Amsoil for $7.85/quart, I go around 10k assuming a clean environment.

Are the Amsoil EA filters better than Motorcraft?

Couldn't say. Amsoil makes quality oil, and I've been using their EA filters in my motorcycle for years. Since I've driven German cars for years before my F-150 I used Mann filters, but I'm sure the EA filters for the F-150 are more than good.

I've been using Mobil but after seeing the wear tests I think I am going to switch to amsoil again. Pennz Ultra and Castrol edge are great off the shelf oils though.

I would highly suggest reading the below article. this was really informative for me and helped me gain a true undertsanding of oils, weights and why the mfg reccomends what they do for your vehicle. It takes a lot of the myths away.
