My E-150 with the 4.6 you have to reach through everything to get to it, my Mustang it is under the strut bar, the F-150 with the 6.2 it is easy to get from the front or right side of my stock height FX2.
I guess that is 1 more reason to get the 6.2

Its on the long list of things I dislike about the truck, like the sideways oil filter.
I only check oil every couple thousand miles, but checked it more often when it was new.
It holds 7.7 qts, so it could lose several qts and still have enough to have oil pressure. I figure if its losing that much, it will leave a mark !
would much rather have a sideways filter than an upside down one

all these replies sound exactly like the intercooler issue for the ecoboost motor. instead of the manufacturer actually fixing an issue its left up to the owner to try to backyard fix it. just stupid things that make the experience of owning this truck less than pleasurable.

If that is your biggest beef... try working on the stuff all day... they design the stuff... sometimes they can't figure out how to fix it...

6'1" here and no problem.
Even with a 2.25" level.

When you check it, do you feel like you have to add oil to it before you get home?

not the point at all. i drive tractor trailer for a living. part of the job is a pretrip before every run. i treat my personal vehicles the same way. i also have a porsche turbo with close to 1000,000$ in the build and car. would feel pretty stupid to ruin a 40,000$ motor because i was to lazy to check the oil before i went racing.

if you use the time you spend fueling the truck to check the tire tread , oil water, w/w fluid and give the truck a general once over you wont be surprised at 1 am on a lonely dirt road out of cell reception
