I also never took the axle out far enough to mess with the mesh in anyway the axle with slide back just a hair to give me a little more wiggle room... The noise isn't as loud as it used to be since I started messing with it also it comes and goes very faint to where most people wouldn't hear it but I know it's there think I'm gonna mess with the vacuum today

I replaced my IWE and wheel bearing assembly because my IWE went bad and was grinding like crazy. Now with the new stuff on, it is still doing it but a lot less grinding now. It happens when I give it gas and stops when I let off the gas and when I switch into 4wd. I ordered a new set of vacuum lines, I hope this fixes it. I also notice less suction on the side that is grinding compared to the side thats not doing it.

Well I got my truck back. As I expected, it was the IWE. The dealership claims that the IWE was broken during the install of the level kit. Maybe they are correct but maybe not. It was covered under warranty this time but I'm sure it won't be if problems continue. They tried to sell me a line of bs by telling me that if I keep the level kit on, it would "ruin the front end" and offered to remove the kit for the low, low price of $400. Shenanigans.

I call bull on that part level kit wouldn't damage your front end parts wear and tear that the life of a vehicle... Started messing with the vacuum kind today haven't come across anything obvious yet been quiet today so far after I switched 4wd back to 2wd when I started driving

the installation can most definitely - if you remove the cv shafts then don't line the splines up again when reassembling = cracked teeth/IWE

Will a bad IWE affect mpg? I installed a 2" AS kit on my '13 supercrew 6.2L, but only went up one inch from stock with 275/70/18 AT's. I hear a grind like noise when it's in 4wd, nothing really in 2wd. However, i don't feel it coasts as freely as it did before level and tires were installed, when not on the gas. I've also experience a huge decrease in mileage, highway and city. In fact my work truck, '15 F250 with 6.2 is showing better avg mpg's than my F150. Haven't taken it in anywhere yet to get checked out, as I'm unsure whether to take it to the shop that installed the level, or to the dealer. When I dropped the truck and AS kit off at the shop, i specifically handed them the instructions and asked them to read through them in case there was anything different about the install process than the Rough Country kits they sell and install.... Not sure if that happened. I've also heard a little popping at hard turn and going over bumps.... Any help is appreciated.

I'm no expert but I would think the IWE could affect gas mileage the same way that driving around in 4wd would. Especially if your hubs are locking and spinning your axles
