I highly recommend Clay Bar..... It works great on most tree saps....

I agree and it shouldn't hurt the paint either, but I don't know about rubber seals and gaskets. Best to keep it on the glass.

Edit: I've heard that some folks have had problems with Goof-off on paint. I have not had those problems, but I'm sure there are safer (if more labor-intensive) ways of getting residue of the glass or paint. As other users had posted, a clay bar is a good idea.

When my truck was brand new, I peeled the 4x4 Off Road decals off the sides of the bed and cleaned up the adhesive residue with Goof-Off on the advice of my Ford dealer. I washed the area immediately with dish detergent and then applied a few coats of wax. You can't tell the decals were ever there and the paint and clear coat still look like they just came from the factory.

Okay all is well with the world. I was able to wash the stuff off. I had to bust out my detailing supplies, and what I did was soak the entire truck first using my tornado foamer and let it sit for a few minutes. Then I washed the truck, and when I was done that crap was gone. And then good 'ol 2 in 1 rainex for the windows. Thank god cuz there was about to be blood shed. JK

If you would have stayed at a Holiday Inn Express, you would have known what it is was right away

I am not paid for endorsing the hotel chain in any way. If you have seen their commercials, you are laughing at the above.
