That's funny, most of you said the same things that I have tried (glasses, paper, business cards) there just isn't a whole lot of space between the clip.
This is the first truck that I have had that had them in there and I thought there might be some great function for it that I didn't know about, but apparently not.

The hundered dollars was funny, because that is for sure the truth!

I used to but they would start swinging, and I got tired of getting tea-bagged while I was driving.

Actually, I find it handy for holding the ticket for the parking garage at the airport. I don't have to look for it when I get back from a trip.

mine has been used as a conversation starter...

Passenger - "oh what's that for?" pointing at the clip

Me - "some sort of clip; I dunno, I never use it"

and that's about as far as the conversation goes, lol

This is Ford's actual stated purpose for the clip--toll ticket, etc.

Personally, I keep a large Lottery ticket in it to use as a movable extension of the woefully undersized sun visor.

Don't forget to get an extra 12-pack for Aunt Wilma, she's usually "thirsty". But I digress.

I use it to hang my handicap tag, flip the visor down to display it.
