I agree about the armrests. I'm about 5'9 and cant reach both of them. Its either one or the other. Its kind of a pain since I drive a lot on the highway.

With the console shifter, at least on the Lariat, there is no dash indicator.

anything over 3rd on snow / ice & going downhill in those conditions is way too fast anyway. need to slow down before cresting the hill. the new 6sp is suppose to be better @ downshifting, from what I've seen so far.

All I can say to this is: Not True.

kinda noticed that too. maybe the arms need adjustment on the motor stud??

No. If you change the position on the fluted stud, the wiper would not fully seat in the down position when off.

are u under 6ft tall? i'm over 6ft & this usually obscures my view. visor is useless to me anyway due to my stature.

I'm 5"11 and a Full-size Adult Sun Visor is very useful.

mine has one

Mine does not.

you have the steering wheel. a handle would likely obscure the view if in the a pillar.

The driver grab handle in no way obstructed my view in my previos truck.

as is with any truck, it's a one size fits all. depending on the angle u see it & the mirrors are set to, your view of this may vary. ford should have pushed the convex mirror out tho to prevent this.

Again, not true. the convex mirrors are only useful when tipped fully outward. The mirrors on my Titan had a clear view to the side with no housing interference.

insurance companies. condition of the roads. most people on the road these days are morons. we don't have the autobahn either. my 4.6 3v has plenty of power for me. press & hold the TCS button until the indicator flashes on the screen & put it in tow haul mode. truck hauls ***** & has enough squeal power then, imo ;-)

I don't know what the TCS button is--I have a Tow/Haul Mode Button. Engaging TH Mode, merely changes the shift points, keeps the truck from down/upshifting so often, engages engine-breaking mode, BUT, it works in conjunction with using the brakes.

everything is close for me. the daylight door design started with freightliner. my console is a massive black hole, will likely turn into an abyss of junk soon!

personal pref on where to put stuff, I get that. I will say tho if you get the convert a ball system - stainless steel - much nicer & easy to store with the case you can get for the extra *****.

Is this the one with a different ball on each side? Seems to me this would be much harder to store than a flat one. Besides, I use a 5-inch drop hitch.

in some parts of town, u don't want this. if u want to park & stay put, never have doors unlocked.

I am thinking of dropping people off. On every other vehicle I have owned with Auto-unlock, the doors unlocked when you put it in Park. It's a real pain that no one can exit the vehicle until I physically open my door (or hit the Unlock button). Not a huge deal, just a PITA.

I see some of this. part of it might be getting use to the new controls too. noticed the end of every other button has a dot on it you can feel with your thumb while still having your hand on the wheel.

I am a sighted person! I don't read Braille!

don't have auto up for the same reason the design changed on the switches - keep idiots from trapping their head thru it. pets too. passenger has it easy anyway, gives them something to do ;-) they used to call it riding shotgun for a reason: driver held the reigns for the horses, passenger manned the firearms.
I have to badge in every day at work. Since I am used to it the other way, having to manually hold the switch while the window closes, especially in inclement weather, is a real pain. I guess I've just gotten lazy--really, I used to manually crank the window up!

Anyhow, thanks for the banter kmac1036

suppose to have at least one hand on the steering wheel, right?

I don't think I can drive with my left hand & throw my elbow up on the armrest / doorsill either. confortably anyway.

thx for being a good sport. I'm over 6ft, but only wear a 29" or 30" pant leg. all my height is in the torso. my head is very close to the roof.

hitch: this is the system i was talking about. It's really nice, esp if you get the case to store the extra stuff. works on many styles of hitch bars. the slide pins are designed to open / close w/o losing them. only thing dad had happen was his chrome steel one froze up with rust. bought the stainless setup, no issues since.

Background info: This is my 1st truck. I had a '95 Acura Integra (stop laughing) The Integra was my commuter car for 15 yrs. (301,000 miles)

The truck seems huge. You sit in the truck, you wear an Integra. I like almost everything about the truck. I got a 5.4 liter 4x4 because there are a few lakes in the Sierra's that 4WD is a good idea. It's big, comfortable and safe for me and my family.

The only minor inconvience is the amount of time and money it takes to fill up the huge gas tank.

I love this truck.

2010 F150 LARIAT 4X4 LOADED

LIKES-Truck drives OK and is paid for, the dealership I bought truck from(this is my second Lariat)

DISLIKES-
Doors on drivers side do not line up
Sounds like a marble rolling back and forth in defrost vent from time to time
Front seat headrest very annoying
Jack under one side of rear seat, subwoofer under other side of rear seat
Fuel door does not lock
Roof has indentions that hold water
Poor turning radius
Acceleration is not smooth, does it in stages
No grab handle on drivers side
Poor visiblility out the rear of truck, backup sensors are a necessity
20" main tires, 18" spare tire, why not just put in a doughnut tire?
Ridiculous ding ding dinging when you turn switch on and gauges swinging about
Park lights come on every time you open or close the door or use the keypad

And the big one!! heating/ac system puts residual and slight airflow in the floorboard even in off even though the manual says in off there will be no outside air in the cabin, in the vent position airflow under pressure put to the floorboard even though manual says in vent position airflow will be out the vents, not the floor vents. Either your right foot stays cold or frozen or roasting.

Doors on drivers side do not line up
-Take it to the dealer and get it fixed.
Sounds like a marble rolling back and forth in defrost vent from time to time
-Take it to the dealer and get it fixed.
Front seat headrest very annoying
-If it realy pisses you off, you can bend the rods (as some have done) or get some from a 2010. Some owners have adjusted their seats and now like the headrests better than the previous models.
Jack under one side of rear seat, subwoofer under other side of rear seat
-Why is this bad? Would it be better if the subwoofer were on the roof and the jack mounted on the dash?
Fuel door does not lock
-$19.95 from Tasca you can get a locking fuel plug.
Roof has indentions that hold water
-Park on an incline.
Poor turning radius
-It's a truck
Acceleration is not smooth, does it in stages
-New 6 speed tranny. If it really bothers you get a programmer.
No grab handle on drivers side
- Use the steering wheel?
Poor visiblility out the rear of truck, backup sensors are a necessity

20" main tires, 18" spare tire, why not just put in a doughnut tire?
- If it will fit, go buy a 20" spare
Ridiculous ding ding dinging when you turn switch on and gauges swinging about
-Would it be better if it went DONG, DONG, DONG? How can the guage sweep **** anyone off?
Park lights come on every time you open or close the door or use the keypad
-And that's bad because?

Shotgun, Since you seem to have all the answers I'll just let you take it to the dealer and address it for me, since It's a brand new vehicle there is a lot of problems here that should not be, and having owned Lariat's before did not anticipate some of these issues, assumed they just continued making a quality vehicle. As far as things under the seat(normally a place to store things) when the ads brag about a flat floorboard and you raise the seat to put something in and surprise, ford decided to put all their junk under there DUHH!!! I like your parking on an incline to drain the water from the roof, I need to get a load of dirt dumped in my parking place this evening so I will have a hill to park on, as far as the spare tire, for $42,000 and it being a truck I expected a full size spare. Park lights coming on everytime, you obviously never have to go out and night and check property's discreetly, you must live in a compound. The marble rolling back and forth in the vent would require tearing out the dash, do you think the dash should have to be removed on a new truck because some disgruntled worker dropped an object in there for grins? And there is no fix for the ac system, if they fix mine, then they have to fix all them. From your responses it sounds like you are a ford engineer, they came close to building the best truck yet but they got a little bogged down in sync and etc. and let the ball drop on comfort and quality. And who said I was pissed off? Just disappointed, you try to buy american made and then you try to buy from a company that doesn't accept bailout money and do your research and then when you get it home and start driving it and things aren't right what do you do? Maybe GM's policy to operate their venhicle for 60 days befrore you are stuck should become industry standard, I bet that would be a surefire QUALITY CONTROL measure.

If your Lariat 4X4 is loaded, use the rear view TV camera in the tailgate. Great visibility when backing up.

Ridiculous ding ding dinging when you turn switch on and gauges swinging about
Tell me what new vehicle doesn't have gauges "swinging about". Even the gauges on my motorcycles "swing about". Close your eyes for 3 seconds when you turn on the ignition!

Park lights come on every time you open or close the door or use the keypad
This is usually considered a good thing. But it's a free country and you are free to dislike it.
