Pennzoil Platinum for my 5.0 @ 5-6k OCI and I will be using a motorcraft or Purolator filter.

Dealer changes mine while under warranty. Motorcraft full synthetic, changed every six months. Only 4400 miles in twenty four months, so about every 1100 miles. Six free oil changes from dealer.

First oil change I did on my truck at about 3200 km was to Quaker State non synthetic with a regular Fram filter. I'll never get the kilometers on the truck so I'll just do my changes yearly. Will probably switch to a full synthetic next year or the year after, likely Pennzoil Platinum or Royal Purple.

That's it right there. It doesn't matter what brand or how good the oil is, once contaminated the damage is done and the breakdown begins.
