Default What a crock of...

My father in law has a 2011 f350 that he uses for his tree service, and yesterday he got stuck with his 72ft boom truck. So he hooked up the sd to the boom to try and pull it out and BAM! Tow hook pulled out of his front bumper! Now he took it to the ford dealer to see if they would warranty it, and they said no because he has a snowplow! WTF does a tow hook have to do with a snowplow!!!!!! Just pisses a guy off that big Corporate guys can say that to hard working people!

Have him prove that the snow plow didn't cause the problem. If he can do that, they will fix it. If they still don't, then u can take them to court if you'd like.

I don't know if he wants to wait that long, it's his work truck that he uses daily and for personal use on the weekend. But I can tell him that.

That snowplow could void most of the warranty - besides - a tow hook is not a recovery hook.

He broke his truck and wants Ford to replace it on their dime? Thats like me crashing my truck and demanding the damage repaired under warranty! He broke it, he needs to fix it.

Sounds like he used the tow hook to just past it's actual capacity.

Curious, what is the capacity of the tow hooks? Don't recall seeing that in the manual.

To the OP, wonder if the SD had the factory snow plow option if they would of covered it?

Yeah, how much does a 72ft boom truck weigh?

My post was a joke. The capacity does not matter once you have exceeded it.

I have watched a tow pin on a stuck WA600 fail while it was being "helped" off a pile by a 992k. It was not the pin's fault.

I think he can be happy that the tow hook came loose - instead of something much more expensive being damaged.
