There is a small hump in my friends 2011 floor under the drivers seat with this little black plastic liner in it. The inside of the plastic thing is hollow and I can't figure out what this thing is for? I thought about using it to hide valuable items like a wallet.

It's the HVAC duct to the rear seats.

Thanks I figured it may have something to do with that but I looked and didn't see anything going into the front of it and didn't feel anything inside of it. Also I looked and the truck has them on the passenger side as well.

Turn the heater on and get down there and feel, it will answer your question for you.

I got it figured out. Its actually my friends truck, he is letting my drive it since he is out if town and didn't want it sitting in his apartment complex parking lot for 2 weeks. It's really got me wanting to trade my 2005 in for a new body style with the ecoboost.

Yes, it's a security feature Ford added so you would have a place to hide your wallet.
