Rams are nice trucks. As far as the interior fit and finish goes, it wins with the refreshed 2013. They also are really good looking trucks. It's my second favorite truck, but the Ford had the nicer powertrain and better looks in 2011. The 2011 Ram had that awful ancient nav screen and a crappy 5 speed auto when I looked at them, plus a rattly interior so it was immediately crossed off at the time.

It's not the truck that's the problem with Dodge. Their dealerships suck.

My wife's charger has the 8 speed transmission, and it's listed as getting 4 mph better than the regular 5 speed. I know it's not a truck but you get the picture.

I had a 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 with the 6.4L hemi and 5 speed. Awesome power but transmission sucked. I traded it in after about 8 months. Everything I read says the 8 speed will be nice, I would definitely wit on it if seriously considering a Ram. Also, the fit and finish wasn't too bad but the quality of the interior panels and components such as AC and stereo/nav was severely lacking. Again, not a Ram but same family. Chrysler made a lot of progress throughout the last 3-4 years and maybe even more over the last year so those could be old issues by now.

I looked at the 13 Laramie Longhorn and it is a sweet truck, all the bells/whistles but until Dodge builds a solid crash worthy frame/roof strenth it will NOT be on my list. I would go with Tundra if i had to because they build a solid truck like Ford. Dont let the chrome/flash fool you. The proof is in the frame. iihs.org

yes, originally i was going to buy a tundra but it seemed interior options like you get in the ford really jacked the price up. this is the second time i have passed on toyota because of pricing. first was 10yrs ago on a tacoma. went nissan frontier instead

I haven't driven the new Ram yet, but I sat in a Laramie Longhorn and it's really nice inside to say the least, but... It feels a bit small and cramped compared to my SCREW. Looks are nice, especially the rear bumper that's molded to the dual exhaust pipes (why didn't anyone think of doing this before?)

I have a couple of years before I even think of getting a new truck so hopefully the new body F-150 would be in it's 2nd production year by then.

For me its,

F-150
Tundra
Ram
Titan
VW Beetle
Silverado

In that order
