Our Lariat was the same way with the insurance company. They didn't recognize the VIN number but no problem and no need to change companies just because of this.

Just make sure when you get the policy that they've given you all the discounts for the safety features and ignition chip security. (ours didn't have the anti-theft discount so I called and they rectified).

Enjoy your new wheels!!

I saw this at the dealership & liked it as it doesn't have all of this extra lights & such I have to worry about replacing when it goes bad. only 2 features I would have liked is the factory trailer brake & locking rear diff. wound up with a truck that had more on it than I wanted, didn't think I could afford anything nicer, but somehow made it happen with the dealing & rebates.
Originally, I had an SRT6 coupe (completely based off the Mercedes SLK 32 AMG), my '65 Chevelle, my custom Triumph bobber, and a 97 F150 XLT that I used as a daily driver. Because I move frequently, carting all of these vehicles around all the time was a bit tiresome. So, I sold the SRT6 and the old truck. I figured I would get a nice, new truck that was comfortable and fun to drive. I looked at FX4s and Platinums. I nearly walked out the door with a Platinum edition 4x4. Then, I started thinking about it. I use my trucks like trucks, so why would I want an interior like a luxury car? I then started thinking about how many other toys I could fund for the price of the Platinum. Better yet, early retirement!! So, I decided I'd keep all that money in the bank and start my research over. I decided on a balance between comfort, functionality, and practicality. I ended up spending less than half of what the Platinum would have cost me on my STX and it has everything (and more) that I need in a truck. It can tow 9500lbs so my Chevelle, trailer, and bike in the back is no problem, it has 4 wheel drive for the snow and mud, I still have power locks, mirrors, windows, a nice stereo, towing package, trailer tow package, and I love the looks of the painted bumpers with fog lights and etc. Oh, and I asked for carpet delete! I hate worrying about the carpet that ends up looking like crap after the first mud bath and snow storm.

So, the STX is a perfect balance for me. I've noticed some people brag a lot about their Platinums and Lariats, but I just smile because I was able to put 30 grand in the bank and still have a nice, new, capable truck in the garage.
