Default Weird Loud Fan

I have a 2012 Ecoboost that just rolled over 15,000 miles . I bought the truck new. Yesterday just heard a loud fan kick on that I have never heard before. It only stays on for about 2-3 minutes then kicks off. Truck isnt running hot. Just wodering what or why this fan is turning on and what it is cooling?
Thanks

I thought it was the a/c but I turned the ac off and the fan stayed on. Just weird because I have drove the truck for the past 14 months and have never heard this before.

My HVAC fan does some weird stuff once in a while right after startup within the first 3 miles of driving. Sounds like the system goes into recirculate and the fan runs on high for a few seconds then goes back to "normal".

Also when the mode is on vent it blows some mighty cold air for the first few miles even when the ambient temp is 60+ degrees. Almost like the A/C kicks on for a period of time right at startup. I sure wish they would write this stuff into the manual.

HighPsi ... Just wodering what or why this fan is turning on and what it is cooling?
It's the radiator cooling fan and it's kicking-in to get-to a certain max'-high-temp'-before-staying-on so that you don't run hot.
