For a bare bones truck maybe. But yes a long box loaded truck is deep into the 6k lb territory. Which is why they tow awesome.

FYI gasoline can weight approx 6 lbs per gallon.

Mine is 6600 on the nose with me in it. 6400 with me out of it. I have of road bumpers, OBA, full tank, all my trail stuff in it.

These are the stickers you're looking for. Both are on the inside of the driver's door. So mine is a 6700GVWR and a 1439# payload capacity

Work at grain elevator so can weigh anytime. 2014 Limited, 5.5 bed 6040 full of fuel.
