Today I decided to put some foam tape on the door panel hooks, I also put some dynamat on the holes that the hooks pass through. While I was doing that I figured I would remove the speaker and dynamat the edge so it would eliminate any possible rattles.

About 2hrs before I started working on the truck I drove it through a touchless car wash.

When removing the speaker I found this!

Water IN The Door?-image-71886485.jpg

Is this normal? Doesn't seam like this should be happening. All FOUR doors were like this!

I know the window will allow a little bit of water to bypass at the bottom where it goes into the door, but not that much. That looks like a lot to me.

There are drain holes at the bottom of the doors.

Yeah it sucks, and Shouldnt happen! I had to soldier all my aftermarket speakers connections to the terminals.... As the rear d.s. would cutout because the connector was curroded from moisture intrusion!

Guess I need to get some more dielectric grease and go to town on my door speakers. That should prevent any problems with the exception of the wiring possibly being too tight.

Wish I woulda thought of that. Guess the panel will be coming off again.

I did see the drains at the bottom of the door and they are NOT clogged.

Wondering if i should install some marine speakers?!

Id cut those terminals off and soldier them on, so you dont have to worry about doing it later!

The doors on ALL cars/trucks have been susceptible to water since the model A, which is why I always suggest marine grade speakers because they will get wet.

It is also why oem speakers/window/door lock motors fail prematurely. The doors are not sealed.

Yeah my speakers are marine grade.
