So this is what happens when you hit something (not sure what) in the road at 80mph. I'm glad my compression struts were there to take the force of the hit, but dang, this might be expensive. The crossmember that the transfer case mounts to is also bent, putting the transfer case drive angle off. When I drive in 4hi it squeals. So I'll be going to the shop tomorrow

Yeah, I'm going to get an estimate on it and see what's the best way to go about it, but it'll most likely be a claim.

Something like that happened to me before. I was driving my 2001 4runner over to a friends house one evening. He lives out in a rural area. I was going about 35-40 MPH up hill and around a corner. I met a car mid corner and I didnt see the turbo 400 transmission laying in the middle of my lane. The 4runner's skid plate did its job for the most part. I had to replace the fuel tank and the rear drive shaft. Drove it home but that was an eye opener.

yeah, after further inspection, I see a mark on my drive shaft that I'm concerned about too. The plot thickens

Good God! What brand lift is that? How thick is the metal? Just from the picture you posted it looks thinner than other lifts i have installed. Most of the ones i have installed lately have used 1/4" steel.

When i had my 03 Supercrew with 11"ish of lift on 38X15.50s i hit a 6' ladder long ways while on the interstate one morning. Scared the living crap out of me but nothing like that happened, actually nothing happen to the truck but you do need to check you shorts after hitting something like that.
