Default Wanting to join the club

Hey guys,

I have been poking around here for a while, and I want to thank you for all the good information. I am an aspiring f-150 owner looking for a 2012 screw eco fx4 with all the options except for appearance. My question is fairly simple, do you think this is a decent deal?

MSRP: $48,010
Dealer Offer: $42,547
Rebates: ($2000)
Financing Offer: ($1000)
Coupon in ford catalog: ($750)
Total before Tax and fees: $38,797

I think the dealership deserves some profit, just want to make sure I'm not leaving too much, or if rebates will be worth waiting for in the next few months. Excited to post pictures of it if I can make the deal. Thank you!

Really? Out of all the new truck owners on this site not one can provide a little insight?

I'd say that's a good deal too. Anytime you approach almost $10K off MSRP you're doing good. Haggle some more of course to see if you can do better, maybe see if they will throw in a spray in bed liner or something like that. If they won't budge and that's the truck you want it's still a good deal and I say go for it!

It seems pretty good. If you have a trade, there is another $750 rebate(if you get good value for your trade).

Corrected for MSRP, you're doing a little better than I did on mine, and I got mine for about $750 under X-Plan, which isn't bad to begin with.

Keep in mind that all the extras (wheels, steps, and especially appearance pkg) are high margin add-ons, so the more options you get, the more the dealer can discount and still make money.

You can also check truecar, edmunds, and a few other sites to see what is a good deal in your area.

Seems like a good deal, and who's to say what the rebates will be like in the future. I agree about getting a little extra tossed in, but if this is the truck you want, then go for it.

I bought my truck around Memorial day 2010 and Ford had an extra $500 off floating around for Memorial Day weekend. I don't recall them doing that last year, but you may want to wait a couple of days.

Cory,

My first post here....

I just pulled the trigger on what sounds like a nearly identical FX4 Tuesday night and paid $37,861 for a truck that listed at $47,095. I begged and pleaded for some more $$ off or freebies and couldn't get anything extra. This was in NJ.

Over the past couple of months I had contacted close to 10 dealerships within a 50mi radius and this was the best I could do. I had many dealerships tell me that the deal was too good to be true, and that they couldn't even come close to that discount. I even had one gm tell me to buy it from his competitor if that price was legit.

Good luck and hold strong.

Thank you guys for the insight and advice. I have wanted a f-150 since high school and I'm finally in a position to get one, looking forward to enjoying it as much as everyone on here. I'll get pics up asap.

Same here always loved the f150. Finally at 23 I was able to buy one. I was back and forth with the Tacoma because of mpg's. ( I drive far to work). But after owning my 4x4 Scab 5.0 I'm averaging 19.6 so I'm very happy with the f150.

Thats good to hear . . . I do about 40,000 miles per year so I thought the eco would be the way to go, looks like your experience is just as good. I'll probably stick with the eco for the power and hope to keep it around 18-20 mpg when I can be smart enough to keep my foot out of it.
