I paid to have mine installed only because it was an extra $100.00 difference to have my friend, a pro installer install it, vs myself. For $100.00 bucks, why put time and effort into it when he does these things in his sleep.

I took the Viper 5901 out of my old car and have been slowly installing it into my new 2011 FX4 but I have noticed that some of the wire colors and locations have changed from 2010. I first noticed it when I was under the steering column hooking up to the factory horn. The color and pin location were both different but in the same connector. Same story for the brake wire. Then I moved on to the door triggers which gave me some grief. The wire colors were all there but not in the same pins. I was checking the wires with a test light with one end hooked up to the battery and the other end checking for a ground (normally open) on the associated wires but I was having no luck. I closed the doors and checked all the same wires and voila, I had a ground from each wire. So it turns out my ground is normally closed and will open with the opening of each door. So onto the door lock/unlock. I am looking at the same connector as above at the passenger kick panel SJB, testing the exact same way but pressing the lock and unlock buttons on my key fob as I test each wire and I'm getting nothing. Does anyone know the new wire colors/locations for the lock/unlock wires. I also looked at driver's kick panel but I had no luck.

The following are wires that I haven't found a new home for:

I found the keysense at the ignition harness but I don't know if it needs to be hookup up to anything.

H/2 1&2. I assume aren't needed since lock/unlock does the same thing.

Tachometer input. I know it's one of the two wires coming from each cylinder but I'm not certain on which one, or if it's necessary. Is there a way to test for this wire.

2nd Status/defogger output. I do have rear and side defrosters but I'm not sure on the wire or location. I've read Wht/Org @ the SBJ and Wht/Org behind the radio. I couldn't locate the wire at the SBJ.

Please help! I'm almost done.

EDIT: My FX4 came with the factory remote start but I don't know where the module is at or the wiring schematic for it. Also, my car has a factory hoodpin that I noticed when I was installing the DEI one but I continued installing the DEI one because I didn't know where to tap into the factory hoodpin inside the cabin. Probably at the factory remote start module, which again, I can't locate.

I got the 5901 w/ autostart and with the 2010 and 2011 they had a bypass module so I didn't lose my key but when they entered my vin they said mine was a 2012 and tried and it didn't work on the 2012 models. But I bought my truck in oct and they sold my truck to me as a 2011.... Thought it was interesting.

This is directions on how to do diode isolate the Door Trigger

Here is the plug from the PATS system on the truck were you'll need to connect your PKALL

The pictures from this post helped out greatly in finding the right wires:

I had the 4806v system installed in my 11 xlt and been having issues with the locks. Maybe someone could give me some pointers. Installer cant figure it out. When I use the rs it unlocks and then is supposed to lock on crank but sometimes doesn't. Also the viper fob when I unlock it cycles unlock lock unlock. Factory fobs work fine.
