Vin check for updates

is there a way to run a VIN and see what has been done to a vehicle?

An OASIS report can be ran. It shows all warranty work done by a DEALER. Independent shops won't be shown.

Thanks Diesel. I am looking more for what has been done to my ECU and what is available or should be done to it.
