Thank you! People constantly talk about wanting driving lights which these are not (I have my opinions because I think they are a driving type vs fog construction wise)!

If you want as much light out of stock housings for off-road use then an hid PnP kit is what you will want but it will have too much glare as shown in RL's pic.

If you want a more true fog which just fills in the foreground and has a nice wide swath of light then Morimotos are the ticket.

The glare is because of the angle at which I took the pic, those are OEM HID projectors and color match bulbs in the bumper (non hid)

From the website

"We offer two options in fog light replacement bulbs, the xenonmatch and yellow Endurance. If your goal is to match your HID low beams choose the xenonmatch bulbs.

The Höen xenonmatch features industry leading quality, luminosity and generates Kelvin grades (color) on par with your factory low beam HID lights.

If you frequently drive in rain, snow, fog and want added visibility to oncoming traffic we suggest the Endurance bulbs with their deep yellow light output. All bulbs are sold in pairs and use the same wattage as your factory bulbs. We do not recommend higher powered bulbs used in fog light applications."

Ahh, gotcha.

It's a deceiving pic then as he wants max output for fogs not headlights.

People put higher wattage bulbs in all the time. I wouldn't recommend higher watt halogen as I've seen melted housings but I've seen many run PnP HIDs in the figs with no issues.

I say PnP HIDs is his bang for buck with maximum performance for what he wants.

Next would be dedicated Rigids or similar.

Are these Hoan bulbs any good? Was looking at them today, specifically the Amber.

I wasn't talking about projecting out like headlights. I was talking about projecting down and out. I barely had any light output to the sides or lighting up the ground in front. Will have to see if I can find the photos of the light output from driver's seat. I have no care for them to act like headlights, as I agree that is not their purpose.

Well then look at Morimoto XB drop in LED fogs.

They replace the stock buckets with new and have projector for the LEDs. The foreground light and spread is way better than stock. The only way you'll get improvement is by changing out the bucket.

Buy these and be done with it. 45 watts is completely safe for our housings.
