Default Upgrade needed for fogs

Hi all, I'm looking for suggestions for some Brighter bulbs to fit in my stock fog light housings to be used for off-road ONLY. I'm trying not to add any additional lights, and not mod the housings or wiring harness. I was thinking possibly LEDs? I just need more light for dark fire roads than I have. My truck is already equipped with the HIDs, so my next thought was the fogs- Ideas?

In the 2015 section there is a thread about where you can buy a different model/style bulb to replace the ford ones and got a lot more light with very little cost.

I wonder if there is a replacement for our trucks that would do the same. Heads & fogs.

Agreed. Fogs for '14 and earlier suck...

Best thing I have found to work is the Amber colored Hids in the fog lights. They are a huge upgrade in rain, snow, fog.

There's not really a bulb swap that will accomplish what you're looking for. You're ideal situation is a set of Rigid Duallys or D2s with a Starkey connector. Square pods will give you 2000+ lumens per side.

Anyone else think the reason the light output sucks is because the fog lights are so recessed? I look at vehicles with good output, and the lights are flush mount or near flush mount...

not really, no. the purpose of the fog light is not to project forward, but down and out. no offense but I think a lot of people fail to realize this, and are expecting them to basically be a second set of low beams.
