There's a bodyshop in town (Duncan Autobody) that does Krown rustproofing. It's over $100 per visit (recommended once a year), but it's a great product.

As far as the wheelwells, just go to Lordco and find the body section. Look for a spraycan of rubberized undercoating made by Proform, black and unpaintable. Do that ASAP while the truck is still clean. Even wipe it down and dry the wells before you do it. The bodyshop could do this for you as well.

After that, you just gotta be vigilant and pressure wash the undercarriage at least once a week during the winter.
I drive by once in a while, I was considering going to duncan autobody for krown. But I think I'm just going to stay local. $150 for diamond kote isn't a bad deal. Going to get a private shop to do it, I don't trust the dealer.

Thanks for all the input from everyone. I booked an appointment for tomorrow to get diamond kote and a spray in bed liner.

Please explain to me how you can rustproof a truck for 139.95 i do this at my shop and takes 3 hours to properly spray a truck , their claiming 45 min to 1hr. On their website bs. I just finished my f150 crew cab today took a total of 3.5 hrs to completely cover the truck properly took 3.0 gallons of bottom material 3 quarts on top. Total materials and labor costs are close to 139.95 i thinky they rip people off. I should move to canada

It's applied once a year and takes about 45 minutes. They use a sprayer with various nozzles. They spray the entire underside of the truck, the engine bay and inside all the doors and pillars. The spray is almost like a fog and believe me, the truck is fully coated when they're done with it.

But the biggest thing is that it works well.

Here's how it's done...

Carwell is the best coating you can do! Mist of oil that gets in every part of the underneath and inside of doors. Not that thick crap most places use.

Well, that may be true for Ziebart, but these are two entirely different products. Wax vs oil.

They do a good job and you can stand right there and watch them. Tail lights removed, holes drilled and the thing is doused inside and out from one end to the other for $130 last year - usually 2 guys working on it; 3 if it hasn't been drilled already.

I don't care what other people do but I've been dealing with snow belt corrosion for many years and the light oil spray is the best I've seen so far - I wouldn't use Ziebart.

My sentiments exactly.

You guys should check out Rust Bullet. http://www.rustbullet.com/ I used this product on my truck and have been pretty happy. It is only two years old so time will tell but it sets up hard and not oily and is guaranteed for 10 years. I wouldn't dream of spraying oil all over my truck or drilling holes all over it.

There are many different methods of rust prevention. Some work better than others. As long as you're happy with the results, that's all that matters. For me (and many others), Krown works well and has good results.

Just don't fall for those electronic modules that the dealer wants $700 for. They're are a complete rip off.
