They figured out the problem, and those who bought the first couple of year models with the twin turbo had many visits to the dealer and parts replaced to fix the issue. I think maybe Ford did the same thing here: put out a twin turbo to big fanfare, and with hundreds of thousands of them on the road they discovered problems that can't be simulated or effectively demonstrated in the laboratory. So they'll probably address those issues, and I suspect those who get a 2014 or 2015 EB will have a very reliable engine. But many more have no-problem EBs than do; I just wasn't willing to take that chance so went with the 5.0. Plus I just like the V8 sound...
Too funny because I could have typed this, right down to trading in our BMW on the Ford. I even got the 5.0 for the same reasons knowing Ill get the EB next time around.

Do not worry, I will never be with out an F150. Just saving up for a sweet sports car now (GT500). I've never had a problem with any of my vehicles below to date:

2000 XLT F150 SC (who cares it was slow)
2003 FX4 F150 SCREW 5.4
2010 Platinum F150 5.4
2013 Platinum F150 6.2

4th F150 in a row, next truck will be my 5th. Dodge, Chevy and Toyota don't have a chance at my business. Call it fan boy, but I love these Ford trucks.

I will give props to Dodge though, they are stepping up the game in the looks department. The new Rams on HAWT!

K, you made the right decision. If you would have bought anything but the Ford, then you would have had a sleepless night for good reason.

Enjoy your Ford. It will give you years of good service.

I got my first (used) F-150 less then a month ago and the only thing I'm mad at is myself for not getting one sooner.

To be honest, I've never been a fan of American made cars before. Now however I'm convinced that Ford makes a hell of a good vehicle. Hoping to convince my wife to get a Taurus SHO to replace her A4 in a year or so. I test drove one a few weeks ago and... damn!!! is all I've got to say about that

Well I had driven a kraut mobile that I bought in June. Beetle Turbo, 2012

I am silly OCD and that thing, ticked, rattled, etc... And various other problems that at one point VW made two car payments.

I will put up with alot but I can not stand weird cab noise and the thing I noticed about my brother in laws f150 is that with 200K on it, none of the things I would hear in the bug. Hell the 10 year old PT cruiser I traded in for it was quieter.

So big cab, long wheelbase, I anticipate a much happier experience only two days in. The balance on the note is bigger but I anticipate a neurotic peace of mind that cant be measured on a balance sheet.

Though with base audio, it does need a sub to round out the sound a little...

Thanks for all the feedback... It's my 5th F150, I did not think it was a bad choice but my others were bought before forums were all the rage... so too much information can be bad too.

Look forward to learning and helping others with theirs..
