You'd have to pull some trim to see if you have the wiring. Either way it wouldn't be too difficult if you really wanted to. If you are going through that effort though, I'd recommend just installing a good set of coaxials or a set of cheap components.

The stock "crossover" is in the wiring harness of the tweeter before it connects to the under-dash harness. It's just a capacitor which is good for a 6db/octave crossover. Basically there to protect the speaker from low frequencies.

FWIW, in my truck I currently have the stock tweeters unhooked and have infinity reference 6802cf's in the doors. Much better than stock IMO. I have a set of 6800cs's which is the component version of the 6802cf's I plan to install once the weather gets nicer. The dedicated crossover is probably what makes the biggest improvement. Plan is to mount the tweeters in the A-pillars and crossovers under the dash by my Alpine nav unit and use the stock wiring to feed the woofers in the doors. That should minimize the wiring runs and any additional modifications in the doors.

I'm not a huge fan of the a-pillar tweeter location but short of cutting a hole in the door panel or going to a custom plate with say a 5.25" driver and tweeter in the stock location our options are limited. Ideally you want to be as close to the driver as possible to allow the sound to blend and to avoid phasing issues. But that's another topic.

Rockford Fosgate T1T-S, great tweeters, they come with crossovers, just take the cap out of your existing line

Would anyone mind posting pictures of what your Tweeters look like when installed?

I would love to but I'm not taking it all apart. It's really simple. The A pillar caps pop right off, take the screw out , lift up and out, just be careful the air bag is behind them. I took out the silver tweeter cover that is on the ford and used the domed cover on the ones that came with the T1T's, just made a lightwieght aluminum strap out of aluminum coil stock to hold it in place, some guys hot glue them in. Trust me, its simple.

I meant what the finished speaker looks like once installed completely.

This is the back of my original aftermarket tweeters. Front looked identical to factory.

I have since switched tweeters and have went the pod route with the new ones.

Does anyone have a picture of a flush mounted JBL GTO19T on the A-Pillar?
