Default Which Tuner To Get?

I have a 2014 F150 FX4 lifted 4" on 35s. 5.0L V8

I have noticed power loss after I put my lift on and also the obvious mpg drop.

I am looking into getting a tuner and was wondering what types you all have and the pros/cons.

Currently am looking on MorePowerTuning.com and looking at the SCT and BullyDog tuners.

Sorry, added it into the OP. 5.0L V8

I have heard good things about both.

My buddy has a CTS2 for his Chevy that I am looking into.

Quite pricey but definitely seems to be worth it.

There's about 6 trillion posts on this, if you get a chance do a search and you will find great info on this topic. I have both 5 star and MPT. When my truck was stock the 5 star tunes were great. I dyno'd the truck completely stock and then with 5 star's 93 p/t tune and picked up about 28 hp and 27 ft lb tq. But as I added more modifications (boss intake manifold, jlt CAI, T/B, Headers etc. the tune acted a little erratically. I bought a tune from MPT and it is completely on the money, shifts are crisp and smooth. the shifts with the 5 star tune (after mods) was rough, not firm and powerful, more hard and sloppy.

Did you have 5star create a new tune for you when you added all of the new mods or were you still running the same stock tune?

Yes I did have the tune updated and tried data logging a few times. No luck.

Gotcha!!

That's weird especially from a reputable F150 tuner.

SCT for sure (X4 or Livewire)

I have MPT and I'm really happy, very reputable company. Been looking at the Omega tune for the ability to change octanes and still make awesome power.

Don't get an edge...Get the SCT device. Someone else will be able to chime in, but as for me -- I am unsure if edge devices support custom tunes from either 5 star or MPT. If you're worried about monitoring parameters the X4 still offers the ability to do that.
