has anyone ever bought this kit seems a lil too good to be true. reason im asking is because i know ignition coils are super expensive and this kit is cheap.

If you read it, the coils are not FOMOCO. Id just buy the items you actually need.

Also there is NO inline fuel filter as pictured on our trucks. The only filter we have is one piece with the fuel pump inside the tank. Looks like they just used it to embellish the ad.

yeah i googled it turns out its in the tank. my truck has 71,000 miles, its running great no issues but i just wanted to get ready for the future. I know its not running on the original spark plugs, because 1 of the ignition coil screws is broken. so im sure previous owner changed the plugs.

are ignition coils replaced only if they fail?

100,000 miles the plugs are good for and I've never seen a coil go any less either. But yeah replace as needed unless you have the cash to replace them all at the same time for convenience.
