Arrow Tug of war!

My buddy has been doing some trash talking and I've been giving it right back to him since buying my truck. We've tossed around the idea of doing a tug of war, he has a 2008 Avalanche and I've got a 2012 FX4. Both vehicles are stock.

I've never done one so I need some opinions on how to do this. Should I use 4x4 high or low? Should I turn tow/haul on? Any other ideas?

I'm confident I can drag his truck across his yard but I want to make a lasting impression. I'll make a video if he doesn't back out.

Thats the biggest red neck way of doing something that proves absolutely nothing. Got get 2 trailers and put 5,000 lbs of something in it, line em up and go. Thats the test.

Do you have 2 trailers they can borrow for their video? Loaded with 5k#??

Do the tug-of-war. It's much more fun to watch online.

He knows his avalanche is a Tahoe with some plastic on it. He's trying to prove he has ***** and wants you to fall into the trap. As said above, go hook up some trailers to do some real testing.

Actually, on second thought, drag his *** across the pavement and hand his transmission to him after. I don't like avalanches.

However you do it, it has to be equal. If he has 2x4, you stay in 2 wheel. Just set the trucks up the same. The EB will handle him. Just spool your turbos.

I agree with you man....

But if the tug of war is actually gonna happen.....

Have it in 2wd, and punch it. The first one who gets to their end of the rope... Will jerk the other hard enough to cause him to break traction, and then since his foot is on the floor, sand blast your truck. As you pull him, youd be dragging him onto the rocks and sand that he is going to spit out on your truck.

If youre serious.... Take your truck out, and test it on Its own. First gear floor it from idle until it shifts then stop. Put it into second gear and repeat until youve tested it in drive.

Then repeat the same test with the tow haul on. You need to find a Good launch sequence without breaking traction. If you peel out in the tug of war, you may lose time building speed, and he could have a great launch.... Causing you to sandblast his truck.

And, id use a tow strap 4" wide around your trailer hitched.

Again, if you know your truck, And still want to chance him sandblasting your truck... Go for it.
