Default Trying to help deployed buddy

Hey guys noob to f150's. My buddy is over in Afghanistan right now and needs some help lifting his truck. He is not a truck guy and I am not a ford guy so this task seems to be very difficult for us lol.

He bought a 2012 fx2 5.0 4 door, white, black leather interior (bad *** truck) before his most recent deployment.

He wants a basic lift and some aggressive tires.

I have looked around but cannot seem to find a solid answer for my question.

If I have this 2.5" leveling kit installed (I hear anything over that 2.5" mark can damage ball joints, not sure if true but in my small amount of time to research that seems to be the conclusion).

http://autospringcorp.com/index.php?...products_id=22

Can He run 35" tires on a 17 inch rim.

He wants m/t sidebitters with nitto trail grapplers.

I'm sorry for the noob question, I have searched but cannot find a definitive answer. I would like to lift his truck but will not pull the trigger until I am 100% sure there will be no issues.

I do appreciate any help, thank you.

Where are you located in the country? Best bet would be to find a solid shop to ask because you will have to take the offset/backspacing into consideration. Do you know the specific tire size he is looking at? I am pretty sure you only need to worry about rubbing in turns with that setup.

Tampa, Florida. The exact tire sizeis 35"x12.5"R17. And rubbing in turns meaning the frame? Or just inner front bumper?

Look into the BDS 2.5" level. They say that size tire and wheel fit.

Any 2.5" kit will work to fit those tires. You will probably need larger blocks or AAL's in the rear to avoid being nose high.
The only problem I forsee with that setup is the 5" backspacing (0mm offset) on the Sidebiters will probably cause some rubbing on the lower valance or lower corner of the fender which will require some trimming. That may or may not be an issue for you?? Lots of people trim to make tires fit, but does your buddy want you to do any trimming on his truck?

FWIW, I have Sidebiters on my Bronco.

Give the people at tirerack.com a call. I'm not sure about really oversized tire/wheel combos but they can let you know if a larger size will fit your vehicle. Thats the best I can do, stock suspension and tires here.

Those side bitters are so nice! Bronco is sick too. Thanks for the info.

He says he doesn't care about trimming as long as he can't see it lol like outside fenders.

You guys are so helpful thanks again!
