Default Truck sputtering

I just signed up for this forum with Hope's of getting some answers to what's going on with my truck. I have a 13 f150 EcoBoost and it just recently started sputtering at high Rpm's when I really get into the gas pedal. I had the turbo sensor replaced about 7 months ago by my warranty cause it went out and I'm not sure if that is causing this with a faulty sensor? Or maybe plugs but they look fine? And another thing I wanted to ask do most run premium gas or just regular? Any info would be awesome!

#1 cause of sputtering is due to bad spark plug(s). They are cheap ($5-6 on Amazon), and you could change them yourself in 25 minutes or pay a mechanic to do the job. I would stick with OEM.

Also, google “ecoboost weep hole fix” if plugs don’t solve your problem.

When was the last time your spark plugs were changed? I’ve seen them go bad in 40-50k.

I pulled the plugs out and they looked fine. But I think I might just change them just to see if it fixes the problem. And the last time they were changed was about 50 thousand miles ago I would say. Thanks for the info! And what is that wheep hole fix all about?

You're probably due for spark plugs.

Default Premium fuel?

I only use premium when towing over 100 degrees. And only then hopefully to prevent enrichment to cool excessive cylinder temperatures. Does it work? I really don’t know.

Otherwise it’s 87 octane regular....or mid-grade where regular is 86 octane.

Check the gap, which has no doubt gotten larger in 50k. The EB is touchy, it likes its tiny gap, and you should be able to close it back down. Or just replace, but then check the gap on the new ones, too. They should be correct, but there's always a percentage that will be off a little.
